Kickin’ It Old School While Kick-Starting the Week

Here we are, again. Monday. And in Columbus, OH, at least, it was a very, very ugly one. At this point I’d rather have snow, really.

So in an attempt to cure our collective case of the Ms, I’m sharing with you the above photos (pretty snow-covered Lake Erie), as well as some ideas for beating the mid-week blues. Let’s ring in the new week with some kick-start, shall we?

Kick-Start: What to look forward to this week.

Since it’s officially December, feel free to celebrate the season without seeming like a holiday-obsessed fa-reak (I’m really just speaking to myself here): the Columbus Zoo Wildlights are always pretty great, and Franklin Park Conservatory’s getting into the spirit, too, with Merry & Bright.

If you can get a second alone, ask Billy Corgan about that time he “dated” Jessica Simpson. No really, I’m seriously curious. (The Smashing Pumpkins are on stage at The Newport on Tuesday). If you really want to get all nostalgic, check out Sister Hazel on the same stage on Wednesday.

One of TLC’s sideshow acts, Buddy Valastro, will be showing off his “Cake Boss” skillz at the Palace on Tuesday night. I’m only bitter because I’m not going. (Also… ha ha at that image. I mean really).

Get toasted at the art museum during Uncorked! Wine Club on Thursday night.

If the Newport’s “Remember the 90s” tour doesn’t do it for ya, CD102.5’s Holiday Show (featuring Silversun Pickups, Delta Spirit, Cloud Nothings and The Features) starts at 6 p.m. sharp on Sunday at the LC.

Enjoy. You deserve it. Because Mondays are the worst.
